Back when the seas were rough and the roads were new, British brewers sought to ship beer to their countrymen all around the Globe. The subcontinent of India stood tall as one of the most challenging arenas to ship to and one of the places where a cold crisp beer was needed the most! This lead brewers to meddle with their pale beer recipes to make them more durable. Little did they know, this would also make them more delicious! Thus the IPA was born!
High Seas IPA channels the attitudes of those British beer barons of old, preserving the ingenuity of breweries such as Hodgeson’s and Burton. At the heart of this beer lies a tongue prickling bitterness imparted by high hopping rates. The dry malt character of this India pale ale is followed-up perfectly by the fuity, floral character of the very same Fuggles hops that made their way across the high seas centuries ago.
This all-grain beer kit includes all the grain and hops that you’ll need to make this traditional English IPA along with a package of English ale yeast for fermentation. We have also included an instructional card and links to other resources for a worry-free brew day.
